In the land of Lanae, where gremlins are soulbeings to their humans, an evil stalks. Tamir Arden, Captain of the Guards, must find a murderer and bring him to justice. When he discovers a strange marking carved into the latest victim’s flesh, he knows the symbol all too well. It belongs to the Princess Callista, who is about to take the throne as the next Queen of Lanae.

There’s a killer loose in the kingdom of Lanae, and Captain Tamir Arden, and his gremlin, must bring the culprit to justice. After a young woman is murdered, he discovers the killer has left a clue—a strange, but familiar marking carved into the poor girl’s flesh—a symbol belonging to the beautiful Princess Callista of Lanae.

On his way to question her, Tamir finds Callista in panicked fear in the hallway outside her royal apartments, lost in a strange, magical spell. He’s swept away by the princess’ beauty, but even worse, both their gremlins are enamoured with each other—and whatever their soulbeings feel, so do the humans they represent. There’s a little quandary, however. If Tamir is caught with Callista, it could mean certain death for him.

Ensnared between catching a killer who is hunting the Princess, and fighting his growing desires of forbidden love, humans, gremlins and magic collide.

I usually don't say much, but today I feel like ranting. I'm in the store getting ready to check out when I swear the world's bitchiest woman and her husband, who was nearly as bad, got in line behind me.

Now, I don't like shopping, never have. That's why I wait for my hubby to be home to go with me...well, actually to do the shopping. LOL

So, I'm having what you call a not so great day. It's the first of the month, so everyone who has to wait until the first or the third were in the store. Everyone has to shop, and I don't mind that. It's the rudeness that gets me.

Back to this woman. She's like, Oh my the line is so long. Oh no, they all have big orders (the three people in front of her, including me.) I'm doing all I can to keep from turning around and saying, 'If you really don't like it, you can leave.' But no, I just grit my teeth and listen. Then, it was, Oh, my God, it's hot and stuffy up here. Then she got off that, and she and her husband were complaining together about something. Then it was, Lady, hurry and get the line moving. Ok, there is only so fast those checkers can check items through, right? Anyway, I had two orders, one for me and one for my mom. This woman glared at me, I stared her down and she didn't say anything, though she seemed ready to.

My position is this, stay calm. Take your time, things go smoother and usually faster than you'd think. And for goodness sake, don't bitch where everyone can hear you. We don't need the negativity.

Ok, my rant is over.

My posts here will a lot of times be about my writing, but other times things like this. Writing things out, just seem to make me feel better. You know, getting them off my chest.

Cerise's Little Corner of the Universe

Welcome to my very first blog. I'm not exactly sure what to do or how to do it yet, but I'll figure it out. For the moment, I'll just tell you a bit about me and my writing. I write fantasy and contemporary stories with fantasy elements. I have several works in progress and two finished manuscripts. One of these I am finalizing for submission and the other, well, it's on the back burner for the moment. The other three, I work on when my muse needs refreshing.
